Big ups to the Future Sound of Breaks crew for hooking me up with a Powerpuff version of myself. It must be me since I have my shirt off and a shit-eating grin across my face!

Strictly Social January recap
We did it again. The January 2008 edition of Strictly Social was just plain incredible! This monthly event is quickly becoming one of the coolest nights in the LA soul scene. The evening started off with a listening party for HEAVy's amazing album JazzMoney$$. This next level album set the tone for the rest of the night and the early birds were able to cop a free copy of this excellent album
Read the review of HEAVy's JazzMoney
The venue was adorned with the photography of Kawai Matthews or Air Philosophy. She has shot the likes of J*Davey, Vikter Duplaix, Jazzy, and more!
Check out Air Philosophy
DJ Moonbaby took control of the decks at 10:30 dropping some hot beats on the swelling crowd. Then at 11pm Amber Ojeda and her band took to the stage for their soul/hip-hop/jazz blend. The heads were nodding in approval throughout her set!
Check out Amber Ojeda
Then Jimi James took the stage with her incredible showmanship and skills on the mic. She was carried onto the stage like a mannequin before unleashing her high energy performance that spanned hip-hop, soul, and progressive electro soul. This is what Nu-Soul and Strictly Social is all about! Eclectic soul fusion at its finest!!!
Check out Jimi James
Nu-Soul would like to thank everyone who took part in this event to make it a success: The core team of Nu-Soul, Soul Union, and Elemental Consulting; Fusicology.com; Going.com, Jimi James and Van Johnson; Amber Ojeda and her management; The Crockett Gallery, HEAVy, and BBE; DJ Moonbaby; Kawai Matthews; London Underground for supporting our artists; Social Butterfly; and to everyone who came out to show support for this growing movement. We are committed to bringing you the most eclectic night of soul music!

Norman in Ventura, CA
Over the weekend I went on a return press trip to Ventura, California. It is just an hour north of LA. The trip was great. I got to be around some great writers from the state and have all my meals taken care of. Room service in the morning and fabulous restaurants for lunch and dinner. And lots of drinks!!! But the highlight of the trip was kayaking in the harbor. The deadly rain cleared up just long enough for us to enjoy the simply joy of rowing a boat.

Adult Entertainment Expo Photos
I think these pictures speak for themselves. There was something for everyone at this tits-ass-pussy-cockfest in Las Vegas! Best of all I came home with a bag full of free porn, a few very cool (and dirty) tshirts, and a gorgeous coffee table book. Not bad.

Hustlaball Las Vegas 2008
As further proof of how crazy I am, I recently went to Las Vegas to provide media coverage of the Hustlaball for PinkMafiaRadio.com. The Hustlaball is an annual party with a whole lot of pornstars, strippers, and rentboys letting loose. It was a really awesome event with lots of eye candy and mini-performances from pornstars like Jake Deckard. They even had this crazy instant photobooth that looked like a bathroom stall that we all took crazy photos in.

Kurt Brown Photoshoot
So thanks to everyone for being patient. Here are my shots from my shoot with the fabulous Kurt R. Brown. I have known Kurt for awhile now and I was very excited to finally work with him. We shot in downtown LA in some of the grimiest places we could find but he captured the unique beauty of the surroundings. Enjoy
Avenue Report
I recently started freelancing for a magazine called The Avenue Report. It's a new publication for black men. Think Black Details, sorta. It is a lifestyle magazine so the topics range from travel to entertainment to celebrities.
