2 Years of Broke As F**k
It's hard to believe that 2 years ago my friend Eva and I started our co-party BROKE AS F**K up at the Blu Monkey, a little bar in Hollywood. As a continuation of Eva's Broke on Sundays parties in the valley, BAF was the same breakbeat concept but moved to once a month and on a Wednesday! It's hard to believe our little party has survived for 2 years in LA, where competition is so tough but nevertheless here we are. This Wednesday we celebrate the 2nd anniversary with one of my old school Miami DJs, Ashrock from Hydraulix, in the house! It's gonna be a great night of FREE music!

4 Years of Strictly Social - 8.18.11
On August 18, 2011 I will be celebrating the 4th Anniversary of my monthly event Strictly Social. It's pretty hard to believe that four years ago I was planning my very first Strictly Social. We started humbly enough in North Hollywood, but 4 years later I feel as if I have actually helped create and support a whole new scene in Los Angeles. There is a growing community of artists who have discovered a platform through these events and have gone on to develop relationships that have brought about exciting new partnerships and sounds.
As the centerpiece of what I wanted to share with people in regards to Nu-Soul Magazine, Strictly Social has really served as an experiment in the open-mindedness of the LA music scene. I have consistently exposed new talent and a multitude of emerging genres to those who were in the building.
I am so proud of reaching this incredible milestone! Thanks to everyone who has been a part of the movement since the beginning: Destroyer, Myxzlplix, Lucy Beer, Asya Shein, Thornell Jones, Loslito, Kenya, Ian Lights Out, Jayvon, Atlantic Connection, Novena and all the incredible artists who have come my way!
Come show some love for the BIG 4th Anniversary show on Thursday August 18, 2011 featuring Nikko Gray, defSound and Brook D'Leau!

Photoshoot with Body Studies
So here they are. Some of my shots from my shoot with Mr. Fritz aka Body Studies Photo. We took a ride about an hour north of LA to El Mirage which is a dry lake bed outside of Palmdale. It was definitely a beautiful location to get some very serene shots. Enjoy!

ART + SOUL w/ Choklate in DTLA June 4, 2011
It's time once again for my favorite event! ART + SOUL is a bi-monthly project that I curate with my partners Michelle Cali and the boys from Jazzercise Manny and Mza. It is truly a labor of love and we select all the performers that are on the bill, pick all of the artists that showcase their work, and literally transform the Mezz in downtown Los Angeles into a soulful experience of epic proportions! If you live in Downtown LA, love soul music, good art and good people I highly recommend you come check this place out! It is definitely a unique event in LA and best of all it is FREE until 11pm with an RSVP.

Blatino Oasis 2011
This past weekend was the annual Blatino Oasis event in Palm Springs and a good time was had by all. I made my way to sunny Palm Springs for a weekend of pool parties and late night fun in the desert. My pics should give an indication of some of the hotness on display! Enjoy!
