The Nu-Soul Magazine First Anniversary Party in conjunction with Strictly Social on October 25 was a success. We had around 200 beautiful people come through to show us love and support! The performances were off the hook. jaMal got the Nu-Soul lovers up on their feet with his body-rocking set of hip-hop/soul and Trizonna McClendon cast a spell with her beautiful voice. DJs Milky Wayne and Destroyer played the right mix of tunes giving love to Nu-Soul artists like Ledisi, Jon Bibbs, Secret Stealth, The Brand New Heavies, Eric Roberson and others. Vocalists Lina and Yolanda Johnson were in the house in support of Meta Music's fabulous Soulsicle compilation. NextAid came through to teach people about their excellent cause and Mahogany Hair Revolution celebrated their grand opening in style! If you missed it don't worry since we have another sick lineup of talent for you on November 28.
Thanks are of course in order to the team that includes Lucy Beer of Elemental Consulting, Aaron Paar of the Strictly Social crew, Social Butterfly Consulting, Abby Harris, Next Aid, Mahogany Hair Revolution for bringing everyone out, Vanoy for choosing Nu-Soul to host her birthday party, Fusicology and Going.com for the promotional support, and Skinny's Lounge for the beautiful venue. Last but not least much love to Steven Blank for the awesome photos! Special thanks to everyone who came out to the event, signed up for the mailing list, and who added to the vibe of the event. Who said people in LA are stuck up? Enjoy the photos and see you next month.
