2 Years of Broke As F**k
It's hard to believe that 2 years ago my friend Eva and I started our co-party BROKE AS F**K up at the Blu Monkey, a little bar in Hollywood. As a continuation of Eva's Broke on Sundays parties in the valley, BAF was the same breakbeat concept but moved to once a month and on a Wednesday! It's hard to believe our little party has survived for 2 years in LA, where competition is so tough but nevertheless here we are. This Wednesday we celebrate the 2nd anniversary with one of my old school Miami DJs, Ashrock from Hydraulix, in the house! It's gonna be a great night of FREE music!

It's Broke As F**k, my free monthly event that is all about breaks, booty, and Bass! Come check it out in Hollywood on Wednesday July 27, 2011. Did I mention it's free!?

Future Sound of Breaks Special Feature
For those that don’t know, the electro breakbeat sound that began when Afrika Bambaataa dropped “Planet Rock” in the 1980s and spawned the renaissance of modern hip-hop is alive and well. Leading the charge for this often overlooked form of American dance music is the Future Sound of Breaks (FSOB). This trailblazing organization has been working steadily to raise the profile of the breakbeat community and sound through a high level of marketing, event production, and music releases. Join Nu-Soul Magazine as we take a closer look at FSOB and their impact on the dance music community in a special two-part feature.

Check out this interview I did with the very cool DJs Stanton Warriors.
London’s breakbeat duo the Stanton Warriors have got it made. With a rabid international following, several acclaimed and top-selling mix CDs, killer remixes that are played by the world’s best DJs, and a popular night at famed nightclub Fabric, these boys are living their dream.

Future Sound of Breaks LA review
The Future Sound of Breaks touched down in Los Angeles in November 2008 with a massive lineup. While the turnout was not as big as FSOB's Miami events, this was surely one of the most memorable nights in recent memory and the music was some of the best around. Unforgettable sets from Jackal & Hyde, Hydraulix, Deekline & Wizard, Krafty Kuts, Shortee, Supernaut and local hero Eva had Los Angeles dancing until 4am. The beats were hot and the bass was knocking! Thanks to Glyn & the FSOB crew, and the V2 Events team for presenting LA with a solid lineup representing the true sound of breaks and a solid production that included killer sound and gorgeous visuals.
